Our complex, near the Sanctuary of Collevalenza close to the splendid city of Todi, is ideally located for visiting the most important sites of historic, natural and spiritual interest with which Umbria is rich; within a 50 km radius lie destinations of great interest such as Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, the Marmore waterfalls and much more.


TODI

An ancient city, the medieval fascination of which has remained intact, rich in churches and monuments well worthy of visiting, from the temple of "Santa Maria della Consolazione", the monument to Jacopone da Todi (Jacopo de Benedetti), remembered throughout the world, the "Pianto della Madonna" and the Stabat Mater, the temple of San Fortunato, Piazza Grande, or Maggiore, the centre of the historic city.

Some years back, the University of Kentucky voted TODI "Ideal City", the place where man and nature, history and tradition come together to create a worldwide site of excellence. All of a sudden, Todi became the world's most "liveable" city.

 

 



ASSISI

Situated on the slopes of Mount Subasio, of Roman origin, developed throughout medieval times, Assisi is one of the artistic and spiritual tourist destinations in Umbria that should not be missed: the churches of San Francesco, S. Chiara and San Pietro, the Priori Palace and much more besides.

Interesting destinations in the surrounding area include all the sites associated with the life of San Francesco, such as the Carceri Hermitage and the Convent of San Damiano, in addition to the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, on the slopes of Assisi, built around the tiny Porziuncola chapel.

 



SPOLETO

An ancient Umbrian city, one of the most important Longobard dukedoms, every corner of Spoleto bears witness to its long history: The Cathedral, the Rocca Albornoziana, the Caius Melissus theatre, the New Theatre and the Church of San Gregorio Maggiore are just some of the reasons for visiting Spoleto.

The Two Worlds Festival, now in its 48th year, has made Spoleto an international cultural centre.

 

 




PERUGIA

Enclosed within Etruscan walls, the Umbrian regional capital and historic and prestigious University town, offers tourists a multitude of palaces and squares filled with historic interest (the Old University Palace, the Priori Palace, the Maggiore Fountain, Piazza del Sopramuro, Piazza IV Novembre) and interesting national and international exhibitions, such as Umbria Jazz and Eurochocolate.

 



ORVIETO

A city of Etruscan origin dating from the 9th century BC, Orvieto is one of the pre-eminent Umbrian tourist destinations for both historical reasons, to which the many churches and monuments bear witness (the Cathedral, the Pozzo di San Patrizio, the Palace of the Sects, the Palace of the Peoples Captain, and for the fame of the jazz concerts associated with "Umbria Jazz", which takes place during the winter.

The wine cellars and associated eno-gastronomic routes, of which "Cantine Aperte" represents the most successful example, are internationally renowned.

 

 

THE MARMORE WATERFALLS

Breathtakingly located in an extraordinary natural landscape, the Waterfalls are the work of the Romans, the waters from which have been used for over 50 years to supply hydroelectric power plants.

The past twenty years has seen the development of many sporting activities associated with the waterfalls and the river: from climbing, to rafting, canoeing and trekking; the various tourist trails of various levels of difficulty allow everyone to get to know corners of unexpected natural beauty close up.
